Dan and Julie Dustin are long time members of New Life Church and serve in several capacities. Ushers, Elders, and Transformation Ministry. We are so excited to introduce you to Julie.
Tell us about your family. Dan and Julie have 3 children; Leah, Levi and Daniel. Leah is married to Tony. Levi is married to Bethany. Between all of our children we have seven grandchildren.
What is your occupation? What would you do if money were no object? Dan is a Safety Consultant, Julie is a retired Daycare Provider. If money were no object, Dan would choose to be an Astronaut and Julie would like to be a jewelry or clothes designer.
What is your proudest accomplishment? Our family.
What makes you laugh? Quirky things.
What do you do to relax and unplug? What about “me” time? Knitting.
Do you have a favorite author or minister? Who and why? I really respect Billy Graham
Share three words that describe you. Loyal. Steadfast. Giving.
There’s a saying, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about dancing in the rain.” Can you share about a “storm” where you learned to “dance”? When my son Philip was alive I learned to praise even in the midst of the storm.
Are you a risk taker? What’s the riskiest thing that you have done? No!!! Hearing the Lord say you are going to Argentina. I am terrified to fly, but I have gone three times no!
What stresses you out? The unknown.
Have you ever gone on a missions trip? How did it affect your life? Yes! I can do anything the Lord asks me to do…
Do you prefer to fly by the seat of your pants or detailed order? I have done both. I prefer detailed order, but it is so much easier to fly by the seat of your pants…
When did you have your first encounter with Jesus Christ? As a little girl, seven years old in Vacation Bible School at a Lutheran church. I was overwhelmed by his love for me…
How has your faith changed over your lifetime? Stronger and stronger-also to trust him..
Do you have a call to the five-fold ministry-or know your spiritual gifts? Yes.
Name something you wish you had given to God before you started to worry about it. My life, the everyday things.
What worship song absolutely takes you to the heavenlies and makes everything disappear? There are so many. ..I couldn’t name one.
When you find yourself in crisis or something happens that seems overwhelming, where do you turn? The Lord.
How would you rate yourself on strength and courage right now? I am terrified of so many things, but with the Lord by my side I can do what He wants me to do.
If you could take back all the time you’ve spent waiting in traffic, where would you spend that time? Knitting
What is your favorite time of the year and why? Fall, so beautiful.
What is your most embarrassing moment? Toilet paper on my shoe.
What advice would you give to your younger you, knowing what you know now? Don’t sweat the small stuff.
